Overview
FreeWire pioneered the battery-integrated charger: all power electronics and a 160 kWh battery live inside the charger cabinet so it runs from a low-power existing feed. The Boost Charger delivers 150 kW while drawing as little as 27 kW, and the Mobi is a fully mobile unit for temporary and backup charging.
History
Spun out of research at UC Berkeley in 2014, FreeWire commercialised the battery-integrated charging concept to help sites avoid grid upgrades.
